About
I am Board Certified in Clinical Psychology (ABPP), trained as a psychoanalyst through the Psychoanalytic Institute of Northern California, and a Fellow of the International Psychoanalytic Association. I also am a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist – Consultant (CEDS-C). In addition to my clinical practice, I am a Professor at Golden Gate University where I teach and conduct research.
The Process
Therapy begins with a conversation and unfolds at a pace that fits your life. Here is what the process typically looks like from first contact through lasting change.
We meet to discuss what brings you to treatment, what you hope for, and whether working together is a good fit — in person in Berkeley or by telehealth.
Over the first several meetings we develop a picture of the patterns, relationships, and history that shape your current difficulties.
We agree on a frequency — once weekly, twice weekly, or more — that gives the work enough continuity to reach beneath surface symptoms.
As old conflicts and relational patterns become accessible, they can be worked through, opening the way to greater freedom, vitality, and authenticity.

Philosophy
As a psychoanalyst and board-certified psychologist, I help people with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, and major life transitions. I have a special expertise in treating eating disorders and body image concerns and am a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist – Consultant (CEDS-C). Many clients come to me after trying other treatments that haven't gone far enough, looking for a deeper, more lasting approach.
